Ecopark chosen as site for the new British University Vietnam headquarters

British University Vietnam, the first and only UK-based university licensed to operate in Vietnam, has signed an agreement to build the school's main campus with an area of 6.5 hectares in the Ecopark urban areas.
British University Vietnam, currently headquartered at 193 Ba Trieu, Hanoi, came into operation on October 2010 to provide courses from prestigious universities in the UK, such as the University of London and the University of Staffordshire. The new headquarters will be built in four phases at Ecopark, to serve the training of 10,000 students.
The headquarters will be built according to strict standards of British facilities with lecture halls, sports and entertainment complexes. The sports complex will include: football field, tennis course, athletic field, volleyball, basketball, table tennis and many other facilities.
The master plan and design ideas will be carried out by Aedas, a British design company. The Aedas company has been regarded as one of the five leading architectural firms in the world.
British Ambassador, Sir Antony Stokes commented, "I am very proud to witness this beautiful development. This is a good sign for the British as well as Vietnamese education. The headquarters of the British University Vietnam at Ecopark urban areas will facilitate bringing UK higher education to many more students in Vietnam."
Sir. Graeme Davies, former principal of the University of London, and is now the dean of British University Vietnam, said: "The headquarters in Ecopark will create better conditions for us to bring Vietnamese students UK honor certificates. Current headquarters at 193 Ba Trieu may receive 1,000 students, but the headquarters in Ecopark will expand the number of students, reaching the figure of 10,000 students. I would like to thank the British and Vietnamese government for helping and facilitating this development. "
The first phase of construction will last from 2 to 3 years. During that time, the school still remains at 193 Ba Trieu and is planning to build facilities in Ho Chi Minh City in the near future.
