Hanoi people eagerly watched the capital planning exibition

28.10.2011

the exhibition shows general planning of Hanoi from now to 2030

This morning, in spite of the rain, many people gathered at the National planning Exhibition center to see the exhibition of the general planning of Hanoi from now to 2030. However, there was a lot of skepticism in the feasibility of the scheme.

The most concerned area was the maquette showing Hanoi’s vision from the year of 2030 to 2050, located centrally at the first floor of the exhibition center. Here, dozens of people stood around, talking, pointing. Nearby, the map shown oriented traffic planning of the city was also very crowded. Many people brought cameras, camcorders to record the displayed images.

Although the exhibition is opened for free, but if the viewers want to record the images, they have to pay 150,000 VND for each camera or camcorder. Coming from Phu Xuyen, Bui Van Duc and his wife attentively studied the face of this satellite town in the decades ahead.

"This exhibition is bigger than Van Ho Exhibition last year, but I think it seems to be very general, nothing is specific", Mr. Duc comment.

Meanwhile, those who lived in the central Hanoi, especially carefully reviewed the traffic directions. According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai (Hao Nam Street, Dong Da District), wants to develop, Hanoi must have synchronized and modern traffic system. Here again is the weakest point of the capital.

"I live in Hao Nam Street, as planned there would have a street run straight to Giang Vo, but I do not know in the future how it can be built while people continue to build houses, even tall buildings in the planned area", Mr. Hai said.

According to him, by 2030, to make Hanoi get the face as the scheme will difficult because it will require a lot of investment in infrastructure, while 20 years is not a long period. The policy of exchanging land for city infrastructure by the Ministry of Construction is actually not a simple problem. This depends very much on the market, on the supply and demand. "To my knowledge, all over the city has more than 700 projects which have not been implemented, I do not know where they can find more place to exchange", Mr. Hai said.

Sharing the same skeptical thought about the feasibility of the scheme, Mr. Le Quang Su (Ciputra urban area) said, to do so, Hanoi had to change the way of management and to have strong determination on implementing plannings. "What we are seeing is the ring roads, highways remain unfinished in decades", Mr. Su indicated.

Even so, Mr. Su also said that the completion of planning schemes would open up great potentials for the real estate market in Hanoi in the future. However, we could not base on the drawings, maquette to decide where to invest because this was only the general directions, we had to wait for more detailed plans.

As noted by VnExpress, in the first opening day, a large amount of people who do business in the real estate field or the "left hand" investors came to see. Most of them confirmed they could not base on planning schemes to make the leapfrog in the purchase of land.

"This is just a general direction, if you want to invest, you need to have information from the zoning and detailed planning," an anonymous investor said.

According to the staff of the exhibition center, in the first opening day, over 1,000 people had visited. The exhibition is open on working hours, from Tuesday to Sunday, Monday is reserved for maintenance.
