300 Days of Implementing Vietnam Telecommunications Authority Building Construction and Expansion Project

29.07.2017

Vietnam Telecommunications Authority Building Construction and Expansion Project starting in late September 2016 – the first budget funded office project executed by Hawee marks a new milestone with a higher-class segment. This is one of the key projects paid much attention to by Hawee’s leadership.

In this project, Hawee acts as a contractor for supply and installation of M&E systems including electrical, extra low voltage, water supply and drainage, fire protection and HVAC systems, with a contract price of up to 250 billion and for a period of 450 days as committed to the Investor.

As the project is expanded from the previous 9-storey building, there are differences between the drawings in the bidding documents and the actual site, partly causing construction difficulties for contractors. However, with the expertise and experience of implementing similar projects, Hawee engineers researched and developed the construction methods in accordance with conditions and specifications of the Investor.

The project has so far prepared to finish the M&E Phase 1 and proceed with the M&E Phase 2, starting from parts related to the system shaft. In the last days of July, Hawee workers are carrying out items such as installation of electrical and ELV conduits, fire alarms, cable trays, fire tubes, copper pipes and condenser water pipes;

It can be easy to understand the hardships and dangers at the construction sites. Yet, at this project, the risk of occupational safety is much higher when it is designed to have six basements. Workers must work in a humid and poor oxygen environment, especially on rainy days. Cooperation among contractors is also a concern as only a minor malpractice in the safety of a unit can affect any individual on the construction site.

Due to the specific nature of the project and its difficult specifications, the entire Vietnam Telecommunication Authority Building Project Management Board has been working hard to complete the project on schedule, bringing a quality and safe works, affirming Hawee’s position as a reputable M&E contractor.
